Whenever I photograph something, I feel as though the camera captures something that I cannot explain with words. My creativity and expressive feelings are suddenly channeled through a communicative medium. The imagination that I spontaneously saved is then immortalized, and this ever-lasting image remains as a window looking into my past present and future. With this project I wanted to explore that sort of experience.

I used a combination of both digital photography and film photography in conjunction with compositing and editing in Photoshop. I chose those two practices because I feel as though they are the perfect mediums to express myself. It can be complicated at times putting my thoughts and feelings into words, but with creating pictures I am able to communicate in ways I never thought possible.

 

If there is anything I want people to take away from my work, it is that I am always trying to live in the moment. Essays and pictures might capture a feeling or thought process, but art that I create will exist as a  glimpse in my journey in life. One that is ever changing, yet always there to remind me of the person that I aspire to be.
